What does The Character Company do?

The Character Company is a long-term mentorship programme for young boys with absent fathers or no positive male role models in their lives. Through dedicated, screened and trained positive male role models, boys are mentored from as young as five years old through weekly mentorship sessions, monthly activities and camps.

Who does The Character Company help?

All boys growing up with absent fathers or no positive male role models in their lives and their moms.  Boys are enrolled in the Character Company between the ages of five and ten and once in the programme, they stay throughout their high school career until they become mentors themselves.

What will it cost you to participate?

We ask for a donation of R250 per month for moms that can afford it, or we find sponsors.

What do you want people to know about fathering?

Regardless of how old you are or where you find yourself, we all long for our father’s approval and for those of us that never got a good answer to that question, it becomes the major missing link that directs the path of our lives.

Dads are key for establishing identity and values in the lives of their children. If we want a better and safer society for woman, children and men then we need to start taking action and start mentoring our young men.
