The Civil Society Manifesto Launch
PrisonOn the 19th March 2019 the South African Counsel of Churches (SACC) will be launching a Civil Society Manifesto at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg.
The National Convention of South Africa is a partnership between businesses, churches, youth and civil society organisations who have drafted the manifesto which is a values based declaration calling for transformation in SA’s education system, the economy, the way in which the country is governed as democratic state as well as healing and reconciliation to address the wounds caused by apartheid.
Speakers will include former President Kgalema Motlanthe who will talk about the role of citizens and their responsibility for public good, as well as former Statistician General Dr Pali Lehohla who will give a presentation on demographic dividend.
Heartlines is proud to be a part of this momentous occasion as we endeavor to mobilize ordinary people through civic organizations as well as churches to re-ignite the 1994 dream of a nonracial, non-sexist South Africa.
